Art Classes in my homeCome to my home, overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the coast of Ecuador, for art classes, Sip and Paint afternoons and watercolour or collage workshops. The popular beach town and surfing destination of Canoa, Ecuador is just a few miles up the coast. Join me in paradise for an art vacation by the beach. Find out more about classes here.
When you click on the Art Classes heading a drop down menu will appear where you will see Gallery of Student Work. Have a look! |
PortraitsMost of my portraits are commissioned works but every once in a while I meet a child who I am compelled to paint. My great niece, Kennedy, whose portrait is shown here, is a case in point. I first met her in 2015 when she was nearly 3. She was shy but also inquisitive, both characteristics that I wanted to capture in watercolour. See more of my portraits here. |
Abstract collageSince moving to Ecuador from Canada in 1979 I have almost always lived in rural areas far from cities and shops. These circumstances have caused me to see all that is available in the "debris" of nature. Necklace/Collar, the collage shown here, integrates bone fragments, shells and beads with leather, jute and copper. See more of my abstract collage pieces here. |
Animal PortraitsCapturing an animal’s spirit in watercolour, be it the wariness of a skittish horse, or the inquiring tilt of a dog’s face, is a challenging but rewarding endeavour. Roxy, whose watercolour portrait is shown above, is no longer with us but for my sister she is 'ever alive' because of the painting. See more of my animal portraits here.
